Texas A&M AgriLife Extension’s Family & Community Health (FCH) program is dedicated to helping Texans thrive by empowering individuals, families, and communities to make informed, healthy choices. Through evidence‑based, practical, and accessible education, FCH delivers programs that enhance overall wellness across the state. Core initiatives focus on nutrition, physical activity, chronic disease management, mental well‑being, safety, and family life skills, ensuring Texans have the tools they need to live healthier, stronger, and more resilient lives. Youth Programs

 

Teen Cuisine is a 6-week program focused on teaching youth in grades 6-12 essential life skills such as healthy eating, food safety, and basic cooking techniques to empower teens to make informed food choices and build confidence in the kitchen.

 

Balancing Food & Play is a 4-week multi-session series developed for elementary-aged youth that reinforces the importance of daily physical activity, limiting screen time, eating more fruits & vegetables, and drinking more milk and water.
