 Hidalgo County 4-H Award Applications

All applications and nominations must be submitted online by February 17, 2026.

Adult Awards:

  • Nominate a Adult Leader/ Individual or Organization Here 
    • Adult Leader of the Year: Any adult leader who has not previously received this recognition at the county level is eligible. Each 4-H club may nominate one male and one female.
    • Friend of 4-H: Any business or individual who has contributed time, financial support, and/or efforts to promote 4-H programs in the county—and has not previously received this recognition at the county level—is eligible. Each 4-H club may select one Friend of 4-H nominee.

Hidalgo County 4-H Foundation – 4-H Enrichment Allowance Program

All applications along with 4-H Connect proof of active status and camp information brochure/flyer must be postmarked within 90 days of completing the camp/leadership training.  You may send via email 4hfoundation@gmail.com or by mail.

State Scholarships for Graduating Seniors

The Texas 4-H Youth Development Program and the Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation is once again pleased to offer to our senior high school 4-H members and current college students the opportunity to apply for an Opportunity Scholarship through the Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation.  This year Texas 4-H members can apply for scholarships in three areas: baccalaureate, courageous heart, and technical. Former Texas 4-H members will be able to apply for scholarships through the collegiate scholarship program. Scholarship interviews will be conducted in College Station, May 5th-7th, 2017.

Local Scholarships for Graduating Seniors

This list of scholarships is provided by the Hidalgo County Extension office as a service to our graduating 4-H’ers and their families. Eligibility varies for each scholarship, refer to each application for specifics.

The 4-H program has one of the strongest scholarship opportunities of any youth organization, but it does require a lot of work! The effort you put into applying for scholarships can make a big difference for you and your family as you look toward life after high school. Best of luck and work hard at this. Remember, you only graduate from high school once, so make the most of this time now!

  • STAR (South Texas Agricultural Roundup)

  • Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show Champs for Champions Academic Scholarships

    • Deadline: Must be turned in to Hidalgo County Extension Office by 5:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10th, 2025. Interviews will be Tuesday, April 15th, 2025.    
    • Eligibility Brief: Must be a member of an Edinburg area 4-H club or live in the Edinburg area

  • Texas Farm Credit
    • Deadline: January 15, 2025
    • Eligibility Brief: Must be a member of FFA or 4-H, reside in Texas Farm Credits territory, submit a current high school transcript, submit 2025 application, and submit an essay.
